I’ve had the great fortune of working with amazing people in diverse parts of the TV and commercial world, including building new talent in to award winners and turning companies in to overnight successes. Currently experiential + digital marketing holds my passion - creating marketing strategies, products and events to reach the customer and exceed KPIs.
My direct to consumer strategy skills were honed over the last several years creating 360-marketing campaigns, and launching products, for amazing brands including, Brookstone, Johnson + Johnson, Hair Club and Sharper Image, specializing in fitness, beauty and health care. The journey began at MTV New York on legendary shows “Club MTV” and coordinating the first season of “Unplugged”. As the Jr. Writer in On-Air Promos and Specials I worked on hits like “Sex In The 90s” with creative nobility Mike Judge, Pam Thomas, Mark Pellington and the late Ted Demme. MTV in the late 80s early 90s was a dreamland where my writing and producing chops formed. Then LA called and I moved to the other side of the country- and the biz- sitting in dark rooms for long days in music video postproduction supporting legendary directors Michael Bay, David Fincher, Nigel Dick and Mark Romanek on Madonna, Prince, Metallica, En Vogue, Nine Inch Nails, Janet Jackson, The Black Crowes, Alice in Chains and many, many more…
It was an incredible time for music. I even cut the first Pearl Jam video for the incredible icon-image-maker, Chris Cuffaro. After a photo shoot with this new band he sold a vintage guitar, funded the video himself- Epic Records then paid him for it but they blew up overnight and this one is the cult-classic • Pearl Jam "Jeremy" http://youtu.be/5WzkG1KnsUw
Branding products is one glorious thing. Branding people is another.
As Executive Producer overseeing music videos and long form projects at leading production companies, the process of bringing a musician's song to life in visuals is an incredible journey. I was honored to work with legendary directors McG, Simon West, Nigel Dick, David Hogan, Roman Coppola, Roger Pistole and more. The music industry was in its heyday and our videos for Oasis, Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Sugar Ray, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Korn, Third Eye Blind, Smashmouth, Slayer, Cypress Hill, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, Bush, Tom Jones, Willie Nelson, Amy Grant, Train, Gin Blossoms, Flavor Flav were award winning. As music video viewership waned Reality TV called and we sold our first show in the room, creating “Change/Over” for the Tennis channel. This led to more sports programming and line producing Season II of the ground-breaking “Sport Science” on FOX Sports Network.
I am passionate about products that make better lives and excel at sourcing the people- in front and behind the camera- to help tell the brand’s story. As visual people we know in a blink if something is right for us- and I love the team of people we work with to bring products to the masses, with the marriage of profound visuals and words.
I’ve been a proud member of various trade organizations including the Music Video Producer’s Association, The International Documentary Association, Women In Film and the Association of Independent Video and Film. Great joys in life include living in Los Angeles, with my two fantastic sons, surfing, mountain biking and skiing...and my iPhone so I can bring you all with me. - Susan Agostinelli
